Arsenal FC: Questions that need answering by Arsene Wenger and the board this summer

As well as the future of Arsene Wenger, the 2016/17 season has been filled with reports over the possibility of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil forcing their way out of the club in the summer. Given they are the two prized assets of the team, it’s complete madness that Arsenal have allowed the pair to reach the final year of their contract. Should no new deal be agreed by either, the Gunners risk having to cash in now or allowing them to leave on a free transfer at the end of next term. Latest speculation has said both want £350,000-a-week to stay and, as greedy a move as this may be considered by some, that’s simply the price of Europe’s elite players in today’s market.

Arsene Wenger will remain at Arsenal for at least another two seasons.

The Gunners frustratingly refused to comment on his future throughout a largely terrible campaign and waited until after their FA Cup final victory to announce his new deal.

It’s a decision that might have angered many a Gooner, but there’s little room for such emotion with attention now turning to summer preparations for next term.

So what should be a priority for Arsenal and Wenger over the next couple of months?

We’ve listed the most pertinent questions the club must answer in the summer transfer window – scroll through the gallery above to check them out.
