Arsenal FC team news: Predicted Gunners XI for Europa League clash v FC Koln

Thursday, September 14, 2017

Arsenal get their European campaign under way on Thursday night, but for the first time in 20 years they will not hear that famous Champions League anthem.

A fifth-placed finish in last year’s Premier League means Arsene Wenger’s side must play in the Europa League, falling off Europe’s top table for the first time since the Frenchman moved to north London.

The Gunners take on FC Koln of Germany’s Bundesliga tonight, with games against Crvena Zvezda and BATE Borisov to follow in Group H.

Wenger is expected to rotate heavily for the match, with Arsenal taking on Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday, and all of Petr Cech, Laurent Koscielny, Aaron Ramsey, Mesut Ozil, Granit Xhaka, Danny Welbeck and Alexandre Lacazette have been left out the matchday squad.
